Description
somebody once said that life was like a river…
flowing through time in an unpredictable direction…
never knowing what will ever happen, it flows with a speed that we cannot change…
and through its travels, it encounters many obstacles…
these obstacles can take the form of many things…
from the day to day challenges of what people say or do, or the shattering of all our hopes and dreams…
sometimes we try to ignore them, hoping that they are the figments of our imagination…
and other times we ignore them hoping that they will simply go away…
but to our dismay, they come again but with greater force and a greater size…
and although many try to go around these obstacles, many are never given the chance…
we must face the obstacles with a determination and a belief that we can overcome them and then learn from them so we don’t have to face them again…
but unfortunately as we struggle to overcome them, many more are put in our way…
and sometimes, these challenges become harder and harder to overcome...
they become so hard that we are not given a choice but to give up and allow the river to flow and carry us in a different direction…
and while this is happening, we think to ourselves, “when will it stop? when will we be allowed to experience the peace, happiness, and even the love that others are allowed to experience?”
and while we travel along, we slowly realize that many of the dreams and hopes we once had, have been stripped away leaving us tired and filled with sorrow upon its shores…
hurt in ways that leave unbearable scars, the only choice we are given as to again allow the currents take us away…
carrying us away in a direction we may not want to go…
carrying is towards something that leaves us broken and shattered,
having no other choice but to let it carry us away towards something unknown…
carrying us away struggling to keep a small shred of who we once were and still try to hope and dream that maybe one day our river will one day take us somewhere that will give us the peace we are so desperate for…
